Alcoa supports Resilience of Country Kids in WA

The continued support of Alcoa Pinjarra Alumina Refinery has allowed Life Ed WA to commit to a three-year partnership with primary schools in the Pinjarra/Mandurah regions and surrounding disadvantaged communities.
This is part of our Life Ed WA ROCKS program, which stands for Resilience of Country Kids.
Our aim is to partner with regional and disadvantaged schools to deliver early preventive health and safety education for students in Kindergarten to Year 6. Each of our modules places students at the centre of learning, and empowers them to make positive choices with age-appropriate tools, skills and knowledge.
An example of this is our online safety and wellbeing modules, which takes a whole-of-school approach to embed education. Modules are available to students across their primary school life now that our new module has launched, Harold’s Online World, which gives students in Years 1 and 2 the first opportunity to understand the digital world and how they can keep safe.

We know the workload placed on classroom teachers to achieve a vast range of outcomes in the Health and Physical Education space can be overwhelming. Life Ed WA can greatly assist in this space, by partnering with teachers to tailor programs to meet the unique needs of their class groups.
