Deputy Chair of Life Ed Victoria, Angela Wheelton, was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia as part of the 2018 Queen’s Birthday Honours for her significant contributions to the community.

Speaking with South Bank Local News, Angela confirmed her selfless nature saying “Whilst no one seeks recognition with these honours, the acknowledgement does encourage others to participate in the broader community and give back in a meaningful way.

Angela’s belief that education and learning is the lifelong process of acquiring vital skills and tools to build a sustainable, successful and prosperous life, along with her passion for community engagement, add to her Life Ed connection.

After a career spanning more than 35 years in the dental industry, Angela retired to commit her working time to Wheelton Philanthropy.

Support for Life Ed is a family affair for the Wheeltons. Angela’s husband, Paul Wheelton AM, is a long-term and extremely generous supporter of our work.

Angela very much deserves this recognition. As a supporter of Life Education and the community as a whole, we really appreciate her involvement and generosity.
