This event was particularly special as we had the opportunity to pay tribute to our outgoing chair, Tony Hasham AM. Being instrumental in the birth of Life Ed and having served on the board for over 30 years, Tony’s passion is as clear as it is unwavering.

We have a tradition of honouring our special friends, on occasions such as this, with a very special Award – the Gold Harold 'Best Mate' Award. There has never been a more worthy winner than Tony Hasham
GARRY BROWNE, LIFE EDUCATION CHAIRPERSON

Passion was the recurring theme at the 2018 Gold Harold Awards Dinner with MC Melissa Doyle, recognising the role it plays in the work of Life Ed – especially in remote areas.

Life Ed works in many remote indigenous communities spread across Australia, in particular, the Top End. This is amazing work, but as you could appreciate, it’s not without its hurdles.
MELISSA DOYLE

The ‘theme’ continued to develop over the night. With Gold Harold Awards presented to those showing particular passion for the well-being and inspiration of children in the fields of sports, education, health and media. And for his ongoing commitment to the Australian Community and generous support of Life Ed, Grahame Mapp AM was awarded the prestigious Humanitarian of the Year Award.

Grahame’s personal commitment to the community has been extensive with his philanthropy extending across a range of charitable causes, particularly children’s organisations. This includes the valuable work of Life Ed.
