Ways to Get Involved

Exciting new partnership with yates gardening

Wednesday, 4 Apr 2018

Having provided Australian gardeners with quality gardening products and information for more than 130 years, we will be working together to encourage and inspire children and young people to get their hands dirty in the garden.

Not limited to the benefits of healthy eating, gardening helps promote increased physical activity, and an awareness of how plants grow and where food comes from.

This partnership will support the delivery of our school based program across Australia, assisting Life Ed to promote healthy and safe lifestyles for over 710,000 Australian students each year.

Healthy Harold and happy kids giving thumbs up to the Yates and Life Ed partnership

Paddy Bryans, Yates® Marketing Director says that, “Yates® is passionate about encouraging the next generation of gardeners, so we’re very excited about the new partnership with Life Ed. Alongside Healthy Harold, we’ll be playing a pro-active role in stimulating children to get out in the garden to grow and learn!”

With the support of Yates®, we will be sharing child-friendly gardening projects that can be enjoyed either at school or at home. The partnership will also include a new joint grants program funded by Yates®, Growing Good Gardens, where schools and community groups can apply for a number of $1,000 grants to help create a garden space where kids can learn healthy habits and improve their physical and mental well-being. The Growing Good Gardens Grants initiative will be launched in May 2018. Visit lifeeducation.org.au/gardengrants for more information.
