Through the Harold's Garden Grants (HGG) program, Life Ed and Bakers Delight’s Healthy Solutions range are encouraging children to get gardening and to ask more questions about where their food comes from. As part of the program, primary schools, preschools and early learning centres across Australia, will have the opportunity to win a grant, to establish their very own food garden or to upgrade an existing one.
All primary schools, preschools and early learning centres across Australia seeking to educate young Australians about gardening and healthy living can apply. If you are a teacher or parent interested in applying, please work with your school on your submission. This grant is not open to home day care and home schools.
The Harold’s Garden Grant program is only open to entries from primary schools, preschools and early learning centres. This includes K-12 schools, that include students from primary school up to Year 12.
While Life Ed and Bakers Delight are supportive of efforts in secondary school and community garden initiatives, the campaign’s eligibility and educational activities have a focus on primary schools, preschools and early learnings centres to reach more students in these early years.

There are 25 X $1000 school garden grants up for grabs courtesy of Bakers Delight’s Healthy Solutions range. Applicant schools will also have access to free resources to support unique learning experiences in the classroom.

Successful schools will be chosen by a judging panel based on the following criteria:
- Plans that encourage children to learn where food comes from, promoting healthy habits
- Level of hands-on student involvement in the project
- Feasible and technically-sound project activities
- Realistic and detailed project budget
- Integration into the classroom, teaching children about healthy eating
- Clearly illustrate the need for the grant money

Schools can apply for a grant from 3 June (9am AEST) to 24 June 2025 (12am AEST).
The 25 grant winners for the promotional period will be notified by phone or email on w/c 11 August 2025.
