Ways to Get Involved

Healthy Harold visits NSW Parliament House

Friday, 15 Mar 2024

Life Ed NSW's recently hosted a Life Ed Ambassador Reception at NSW Parliament. The event, co-hosted by The Hon. Ryan Mark MP, the Minister for Health and Regional Health, brought together over 40 members of parliament and their staff to celebrate the organisation’s impactful initiatives.

The evening commenced with a warm welcome from Jonathon Peatfield, Chief Executive Officer at Life Ed NSW, accompanied by Healthy Harold, Life Ed’s beloved giraffe mascot. The Hon. Prue Car MP – Deputy Premier and Minister for Education and Early Learning also presented an address on the importance and impact of Life Ed in empowering all children with the crucial skills to navigate the increasingly complex challenges they face in today’s modern society.

The reception also provided a platform to recognise and express gratitude to Life Ed Ambassadors, both new and existing, for their unwavering support in advancing the organisation’s mission. Their dedication and advocacy play a pivotal role in ensuring that children across NSW and the ACT have access to the tools and resources they need to make safer and healthier choices.

Throughout the evening, guests had the opportunity to learn more about Life Ed’s latest initiatives, which aim to empower children with the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing. From engaging education sessions to whole-of-community events, Life Ed’s holistic approach to preventative health education continues to make a tangible difference in the lives of young Australians.

The Life Ed Ambassador Reception served as more than just a networking opportunity; it was a celebration of collaboration, advocacy and collective dedication to ensuring the health and wellbeing of future generations. Life Ed NSW looks forward to continuing its partnerships and advocacy in empowering all children and young people through preventative health and wellbeing education.

As Life Ed continues to expand its reach and impacts, events like these serve as a reminder of the collective effort required to ensure that every child has the opportunity to lead a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life.
