Ways to Get Involved

Meet Life Ed Victoria's Education Manager

Wednesday, 2 Apr 2025

When Tegan thinks back to her childhood, like many Aussie kids, she remembers that feeling of excitement each time Life Ed came to visit her school, the lovable giraffe that encouraged students to make positive choices and the joy experienced during the immersive, iconic education experience.

It’s a full circle moment for her now as she find herself back with Healthy Harold, this time as the Education Manager for Life Ed Victoria. She shares more.

Why have you decided to join the Life Ed Victoria team?

I wanted to join Life Ed Victoria because I’m passionate about empowering students to make informed, healthy choices. With 11 years of teaching experience, I’ve seen the importance of building resilience and social-emotional skills. Life Ed’s mission aligns with my commitment to student well-being, and I’m excited to contribute my expertise in curriculum development and engagement beyond the classroom.

What are you most looking forward to in your role?

I’m most looking forward to inspiring and empowering students with essential life skills while engaging and connecting with different schools and communities. I look forward to making a meaningful impact on student well-being and contributing to a team that shares my passion for health and education.

How will your past experience help in this role?

My 11 years of teaching experience, including leadership roles in curriculum development, data analysis, and mentoring, I’ve learned how to engage students and adjust lessons to fit their needs. I’ve also focused a lot on using creative teaching methods and supporting students’ well-being, which lines up really well with Life Ed Victoria’s mission to deliver meaningful and engaging programs.

Did you experience Life Ed as a child? Any favourite memories?

Yes! I have very fond memories of visiting the Life Ed van and being excited to see Healthy Harold. I remember learning about making healthy choices in a fun and engaging way, and those lessons stuck with me – I especially loved the activity booklets we received. It’s amazing to now have the opportunity to be part of that experience for a new generation of students.

What makes you passionate about prevention and education?

I’m passionate about prevention and education because it gives kids the tools to make smart, positive choices in life. By teaching them early on helps build their confidence, resilience, and healthy habits, setting them up to succeed now and in the future. It’s all about giving them the best shot at thriving and making good decisions as they grow.
