Terms and Conditions
Introduction
- Information on how to apply for this grant, and the awarding of the grants, form part of these Terms and Conditions. By participating, entrants (“you“) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Entries must comply with these Terms and Conditions to be valid.
- This competition is run by Life Education Australia (ABN 50002506470) of Suite 101, 26-32 Pirrama Road, Pyrmont NSW, 2009, Australia (“Life Ed“)
- Entry is only open to residents of Australia who are aged 18 years or over who:
- is either:
- a parent or guardian to a child enrolled in and attending the Australian school the subject of the Entry, or
- a teacher, principal or other staff member of the Australian school the subject of the Entry; and
- have obtained approval from the Australian school the subject of the Entry to enter the competition on behalf of the school.
- is either:
- Employees (including contractor staff) of Life Ed or Bakers Delight and their Immediate Families, and any of Life Ed’s or Bakers Delight’s agencies, suppliers or contractors associated with this competition and their Immediate Families, are ineligible to enter. (“Immediate Family” means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or first cousin.)
- Life Ed reserves the right, in its sole discretion, but shall not be under any obligation, to verify the validity of any entry or any information provided by an entrant (including his or her age, identity, residential address and any other information relevant to entry into, or participation in, this competition). If Life Ed, in its sole discretion, carries out any verification, its decision shall be final and you agree not to make any claim or complaint in relation to the same. Life Ed may, in its sole discretion, disqualify any individual who submits an entry that in the sole opinion of the Promoter is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who provides false information, fails to provide information, conspires with others to gain an unfair advantage or who is otherwise involved in manipulating, interfering or tampering in any way with this competition, or has engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise fair and proper conduct of this competition. Errors and omissions may be accepted at Life Ed’s discretion. Entrants agree and acknowledge that Life Ed shall not be obliged to explain or disclose its reasons for disqualification, and that all disqualification decisions made by Life Ed shall be final and not subject to challenge or inquiry. Failure by Life Ed to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. Life Ed’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation are expressly and generally reserved.
- If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, Life Ed reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the entrant.
- Entries to the competition may be made between 12.01am on Monday 3 June 2024 and 11.59pm on Saturday 29 June 2024 (“Application Period“). All times are AEST.
- Entries must be received before the end of the Application Period. Entries are deemed to be made at the time of receipt by Life Ed, not the time of posting or transmission by the entrant. Life Ed accepts no responsibility for any entries not received for any reason (whether or not due to any negligence by Life Ed), including without limitation any technical errors, misdirection or misspellings.
How to Enter
- To participate in the competition, the entrant must complete the following steps during the Application Period to submit an “Entry“:
- input the requested identification and contact details, including your full name, email address and the school the subject of the application; and
- respond to the questions in the form and upload the required supporting documents; and
- submit the fully completed online entry form.
- Any uploaded files must be submitted in accordance with the relevant platform’s requirements and must not exceed 20MB file size.
- Incomplete, indecipherable, or illegible entries will be deemed invalid.
- Maximum one Entry per person. Multiple Entries are permitted for each school, however each Entry must be substantially unique and submitted separately and in accordance with entry requirements.
- This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winners. All Entries will be judged individually on their merits based on the following criteria:
- creative and well thought out designs
- plans that encourage kids to learn where food comes from, promoting healthy habits
- level of hands-on student involvement in the project
- feasible and technically-sound project activities
- realistic and detailed project budget
- integration into the classroom, teaching kids about healthy eating; and
- clearly illustrate the need for the grant money.
- Entrants irrevocably agree not to challenge the results of the competition or any decision made by the judges.
- Entrants agree that they are fully responsible for any materials they submit as part of their Entry (“Content“). Life Ed shall not be liable in any way for such Content to the full extent permitted by law. Life Ed may remove or decline to publish any Content without notice for any reason whatsoever. Entrants warrant and agree that:
- their relevant school has approved the Entry and agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions:
- they will not submit any Content that is unlawful or fraudulent, or that is in breach of any intellectual property, privacy, publicity or other rights, defamatory, obscene, derogatory, pornographic, sexually inappropriate, violent, abusive, harassing, threatening, objectionable with respect to race, religion, origin or gender, not suitable for children aged under 15, or otherwise unsuitable for publication;
- their Content shall not contain viruses or cause injury or harm to any person or entity;
- they will obtain prior consent from any person or from the owner(s) of any property that appears in their Content;
- the Content is the original work of the entrant or they will obtain full prior consent from any person who has jointly created or has any rights in the Content to the uses contemplated by these Terms and Conditions, and the Content does not infringe the rights of any third party;
- they consent to any use of the Content which may otherwise infringe the Content creator’s/creators’ moral rights pursuant to the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) and warrant that they have the full authority to grant these rights; and
- they will comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including without limitation, those governing copyright, content, defamation, privacy, publicity and the access or use of others’ computer or communication systems.
- Life Ed may, but is not required to, screen or monitor Entries, including for compliance with the requirements set out above. Life Ed will make all determinations as to the compliance and appropriateness of Entry submissions in its sole discretion. Entrants irrevocably agree and acknowledge that Life Ed may reject, edit or remove any Entry at any time without notice and without assigning any reason whatsoever.
- Without limiting any other terms herein, the entrant agrees to indemnify Life Ed for any breach of clause 14
Grants
- There will be 25 grants, each of AU$1,000 to be won across Australia during the Application Period. The total pool value of all the grants is AU$25,000. The 25 grants are allocated to categories of schools as follows.
- Early Learning Centres and Preschools (including childcare centres and kindergartens) (5 x AU$1,000 grants)
- Primary schools with 0 to 200 students (5 x AU$1,000 grants)
- Primary schools with 201 to 400 students (5 x AU$1,000 grants)
- Primary schools with 401 to 600 students (5 x AU$1,000 grants)
- Primary schools with more than 600 students (5 x AU$1,000 grants)
- Grants are awarded to the schools the subject of the winning Entries. A school cannot be awarded more than one grant.
- Entries will be assessed by the judges in the period between 1 July 2024 and 30 July 2024. Successful entrants and schools will be notified in the week commencing 5 August 2024. Life Ed’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The judges may select additional reserve Entries, which they determine to be the next best, and record them in order, in case of an invalid Entry or ineligible entrant.
- A school to which a grant has been awarded must use the grant towards conducting the project the subject of the winning Entry. The school must spend the grant within 9 months of receiving the grant. The school is required to submit to Life Ed a report by 1 March 2025, which provides a summary on the outcomes of its project, how the grant was used, including photographs.
- Winners must provide Life Ed with details of the school’s nominated bank account for receipt of the grant. If for any reason a winner does not accept the grant or does not provide the nominated bank account details by the time stipulated by Life Ed, then Life Ed has the sole right and discretion (without the need for further notification) to select an alternative winner and the original winner will automatically forfeit the grant in such an event.
General
- By submitting an Entry, you grant Life Ed, its affiliates and sub-licensees a non-exclusive, irrevocable, perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide licence (“Licence“) to use, reproduce, distribute, display, perform, redact, edit, republish, sublicense, translate, copy and create derivative works from your Entry (and additionally, in the case of winning entries, the outcomes report), for any purpose, including but not limited to future promotional, marketing or publicity purposes, in any media now known or hereafter developed, without any payment, compensation or further notification to or permission from you. Pursuant to the grant of the Licence as aforesaid, for the avoidance of doubt you consent to Life Ed, and anyone acting on behalf of Life Ed, doing any act in accordance with the Licence that would otherwise constitute an infringement of any moral or intellectual property rights that you or any other relevant party may have in your Entry.
- Entrants consent to Life Ed using the entrant’s name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this competition (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by Life Ed.
- If this competition is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of Life Ed, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, Life Ed reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the competition, as appropriate.
- Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act or similar consumer protection laws in the States and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable Guarantees“). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, Life Ed (including its respective officers, employees and agents) exclude all liability including for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the competition.
- To the extent permitted by law, Life Ed (including its officers, employees and agents) will not be responsible for any events beyond the control of Life Ed which affect the proper conduct or administration of this competition, or prevent the awarding of a grant in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. If such event occurs, Life Ed reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, subject to any written directions from a relevant regulatory authority.
- As a condition of participating in the competition, all entrants (whether or not a winner) will indemnify Life Ed, all organisers, sponsors and all other persons and organisations associated in any way with this competition and its affiliates against all claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including costs on a solicitor-client basis) which Life Ed and its affiliates may incur arising out of their participation in the competition, by the entrant, any breach of these Terms and Conditions, or any wrongful or illegal act or omission in the competition, howsoever caused.
- The laws of New South Wales, Australia apply to this competition to the exclusion of any other law. Entrants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia.
Guidelines & Criteria
Overview
Bakers Delight’s Healthy Solutions range and Life Ed have joined forces to encourage young people to get out into the garden and to ask more questions about where food comes from, through the Growing Good Grains Grants program.

Eligibility
- Any school; primary, pre-school, kindergarten, childcare centre seeking to educate young Australians about gardening and healthy living can apply.
- Incomplete and late applications will not be considered.
Criteria
In order to give schools more opportunity to secure a grant, applications will be categorised by school type and size. Five grants will be awarded under each of the five categories:
- Early Learning Centres and Preschools
- Primary schools with:
- 0 to 200 students
- 201 to 400 students
- 401 to 600 students
- 600+ students
Successful schools will be chosen based on the following criteria:
- Creative and well thought out designs
- Plans that encourage kids to learn where food comes from, promoting healthy habits
- Level of hands-on student involvement in the project
- Feasible and technically-sound project activities
- Realistic and detailed project budget
- Integration into the classroom, teaching kids about healthy eating
- Clearly illustrate the need for the grant money

To apply for the 2024 Growing Good Grains Grant, groups can complete the application form on the Life Ed’s Australia’s website – www.lifeed.org.au/gardengrants
Conditions of receiving a grant
All funding for the Bakers Delight’s Healthy Solutions range and Life Ed’s Growing Good Grains Grants 2024 will be provided and administered by Life Ed \in the form of electronic transfer.
Successful applicants must:
- Conduct the project according to the activities and budget for which the funding was approved and received.
- Grant funds must be spent on the project budget items within 9 months of receiving funds even if the project may be ongoing.
- Provide evidence on the outcomes of the project, including photographs and how funds were spent by 1 March 2025.
- Permit Life Ed Australia and Bakers Delight to use project reports and photos for promotional purposes across website, social media etc.
- Seek permission from the parents / guardians of the group before submitting photographs of children for use by Life Ed and Bakers Delight.
- Agree to receive communications from Life Ed.

By submitting your application, you provide consent or, if the Personal Information is not information about you, must obtain consent from the relevant individual the subject of the Personal Information, to the collection, use and disclosure of the Personal Information in accordance with this privacy notice, Life Ed’s privacy policy and Bakers Delight privacy policy.
In particular, you acknowledge that Life Ed and Bakers Delight will collect, use and disclose this Personal Information, to the extent permitted by law, for the purpose of:
(a) assessing this application and any subsequent application;
(b) administering, evaluating, monitoring and promoting any grants provided in connection with your application and promoting the Growing Good Gardens Grains program;
(c) verifying, maintaining and updating our records;
(d) Life Ed and/or Bakers Delight contacting the relevant individuals by telephone, mail, electronically or otherwise to provide the relevant individuals with information about the application and any grant; and
(e) sending you further marketing communications from Life Ed and/or Bakers Delight (if you have indicated in this application that you would like to receive them), either directly or through their respective marketing agencies.
You further acknowledge that if you do not disclose all the information requested in this application, Life Ed will not consider or progress your grant application.
