Moree Lights Up with Healthy Harold’s Colour Run

The heart of Moree exploded with colour, laughter, and a vibrant community spirit during Healthy Harold’s Moree Festival of Health, a joyful celebration of wellbeing, connection, and active living hosted by Life Ed NSW.
The festival’s highlight was the exhilarating colour run, where Moree’s community ran, danced, and skipped their way through clouds of colour, turning Jellicoe Park into a colourful celebration of fun. The energy was impossible to miss as bursts of colour painted everyone with energy and joy!
Healthy Harold the giraffe, Life Ed beloved mascot was in his element, helping spread the message of wellbeing and healthy living. Harold’s warm hugs, high-fives, and photo moments delighted kids and adults alike, spreading smiles far and wide.
Nearby, Life Ed NSW’s Outdoor Pop-Up Classroon served as a rolling classroom, sparking curiosity and teaching kids everything from healthy eating to making positive life choices. The pop-up allowed the Life Ed team to bring important health and safety education directly to the Moree community, highlighting it as an educational necessity in regional and rural areas.

The festival’s health boost was generously fuelled by Australian Bananas, whose enthusiastic team kept the crowd energised with fresh bananas all day long. Whether catching their breath or gearing up to sprint, runners and walkers happily grabbed this delicious, natural source of energy.

Alongside the colour run, Moree’s Festival of Health featured interactive booths and engaging family activities. Stalls like Headspace’s provided a safe space for mental health education, Centacare’s popular popcorn machine, and the complimentary BBQ supported by the Lions Club of Moree were all a great example of the community coming together to learn and support each other. Other highlights included the Moree Teacher Webinar run by Peer Support’s Sophie Sedgwick, equipping teachers with skills and offering the Peer Support Program for local schools to foster community support and engagement.
Organisers, supporters and volunteers were the pillars of this great event and were a powerful reminder of the Moree community’s strength, shared joy, and positive change. With stained shirts and happy hearts, the spirit of the festival and Healthy Harold’s cheerful presence has energised the Moree Community for another wonderful year of health and wellbeing.

The 2025 Moree Festival of Health was made possible thanks to the wonderful support of our partners, Moree Plains Shire Council, Headspace/Centacare, the Moree, Boggabilla and Mungindi Community Health team, Moree Family Support, the Lions Club of Moree, Moree Police, Hort Innovation, the Waratah Education Foundation, and Australian Bananas – all of who proudly helped the Life Ed NSW team in promoting heathy living.
