Youth Connect to unpack the tough topics

Monday, 31 Mar 2025

With a range of thought-provoking speakers confirmed set to challenge perspectives around complex topics like online bullying, respect, consent and neurodiversity, tickets are now available for Youth Connect, Life Ed South Australia’s signature event for primary and secondary school educators and leaders.

The event will feature keynote presentations and a lively panel discussion with:

  • Dr Jacqui Hendricks, Senior Lecturer in the Discipline of Health Promotion & Sexology at Curtin University.
  • Jonny Shannon, Australia’s Motivational Speaker of the Year and Youth Worker.
  • Mason Black, Founder of The BetterMENt Project and advocate for fostering respect and accountability in young men.
  • Dr Joey Lawrence, Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Neuropsychology Registrar, and the Co-Founder and Director of Neudle Psychology.

Young people will be front and centre at the event as they share their perspectives and insights. There will also be an open Q&A at the end of the agenda, to allow guests to delve deeper into the views of panellists.

With bullying in our playgrounds, gender-based attacks in the school setting, the early sexualisation of young people, and the critical need to keep our kids safe online, we understand that teachers and school leaders are facing added pressures and challenges – because students are.

That’s why we host Youth Connect—to give teachers direct access to experts to equip them with contemporary, evidence-based strategies they can use to support their students to make positive, informed choices.
Gildi Carty, CEO, Life Ed South Australia.

Hosted by renowned comedian and MC, Libby Trainor Parker, the event will be held on 5 September 2025 in Magill, SA.

The not-to-be-missed event will give school leaders, wellbeing coordinators, teachers and youth workers a chance to learn, share and connect – and can be counted towards professional development hours.

Tickets are now available.
