Ways to Get Involved

Celebrating Sue O’Malley

Friday, 5 Dec 2025

After eight years on the Board as a Director and six years as Chair, Life Ed would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank Sue O’Malley for her incredible leadership.

Since joining Team Harold in 2017, Life Ed has reached approximately 4.5million children, ensuring the strong legacy of Founders Reverend Ted Noffs and Reverend Bill Crews lives on in schools and communities nationally.

This is a testament to Sue’s sound advice, expert guidance and unwavering commitment to ensuring every child thrives through education.

Key achievements under her leadership include:

  • Securing two rounds of Federal Government funding totally $10.4million.
  • Purchase of the original Life Education Centre in Colyton, established by philanthropist Dick Smith, strengthening Life Ed’s asset base and securing the historic site.
  • Establishment of the Thrive Children’s Fund, increasing access to the Life Ed program to children and communities in low socio-economic, rural, and remote communities.
  • Launch of new evidence-based modules tackling vaping, online safety, respectful relationships, and mental wellbeing.
  • Development of a five-year National Strategy, setting out the roadmap for sustainable growth.
  • Development of an Impact Measurement and Evaluation Framework to better demonstrate Life Ed’s impact to stakeholders.

Sue’s more than 30 years of experience in Property Management, Marketing, Facilities and Operations, Sustainability and Customer Experience in the retail sector across Australia has been invaluable to the stewardship of Life Ed.

She has added immense value to Life Ed’s operations nationally and across our Life Ed Network through her strategic insights from real business experience. However, it has been her passion for empowering the next generation which has made our organisation stronger, more resilient, and more impactful.

As I step away, I am filled with gratitude and optimism. Life Ed is more than an organisation. It’s a movement that empowers young Australians to make safe, healthy, and informed choices.

I’m delighted to welcome Justin Levis as incoming Chair and Karen Robertson as national CEO. Both bring exceptional experience and passion for our mission. Together, we have built something extraordinary, and the best is yet to come.
Sue O'Malley.
