Life Ed Queensland wins Children’s Rights Award

Thursday, 30 Oct 2025

In October, Life Ed Queensland was honoured with the Goodstart Early Learning Children’s Rights Education Award at a prestigious Children’s Week event. The award recognises organisations demonstrating outstanding dedication to teaching children, families and communities about children’s rights in Queensland.

Grounded in the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), the award celebrates initiatives that turn children’s rights from abstract concepts into everyday practice. Finalists were recognised for creativity, inclusion and evidence-based approaches that help children understand, experience and advocate for their rights.

Life Ed Queensland’s win highlights the impact of our various respectful relationships programs and other key initiatives such as Talk About It (relationships and sexual health), Take a Breath (vaping prevention education), and our long-standing partnerships with First Nations communities.

Accepting the award, Life Ed Queensland CEO, Taryn Black acknowledged the collective effort of Life Ed Queensland’s team, educators, schools and partners across the state who work every day to empower children with knowledge, confidence and respect.

A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated team, supporters and communities for championing children’s rights across Queensland.
