Harold’s Big School supports preschool children as they prepare to transition from their early years education setting to primary school, encouraging them to embrace change with curiousity and joyful anticipation.
Overview
Harold’s Big School supports preschool children as they transition to “big school” by practicing helpful classroom behaviours, promoting positive perspectives on change, assuring them that they will be supported and exploring the concept of belonging.
The interactive session includes a new “big book” written and illustrated by an Australian creative team and built on recommendations from trusted education specialists and peak bodies. The lesson is built on shared storytelling, music and songs that help children learn about school transition and their wellbeing through the opportunity to engage in play-based, fun and hands on learning experiences.

Harold’s Big School – Pre-Lesson Information
This interactive module contains everything you need to integrate Harold’s Big School into your program, including: Information about Harold’s Big School, outcomes and alignment to the EYLF and NQS, an "Observation Template" to assist you with observation and reporting, a downloadable parent handout (that can be printed or distributed electronically) and suggested "Learning Environments" you can create in your classroom to enhance children's opportunities to learn through play.
