All in for reconciliation
At Life Ed, we strive to create safe spaces for children, young people and the communities that support them to come together to learn and grow. We recognise, as a national network, that this is only possible if we endeavour to learn from the rich histories and perspectives of First Nations and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
That is why we are proud to celebrate the National Reconciliation Week 2026 theme: all in for reconciliation.
This vision for reconciliation is reflected in Life Ed’s approach and advocacy for inclusive and accessible education. It also sits at the heart of our RAP artwork.
What does being healthy, safe and connected mean to you?
This was the question we asked young people from across Australia, including First Nations and non-Indigenous voices and views. This was intentional because it is important to us to reflect and celebrate the diversity of our country, and show the power in unity.
We asked these young people to bring their answers to life through art and as expected, the submissions were insightful, clever and incredibly moving.
In order to showcase each unique design and perspective, Life Ed engaged Coolamon Creative, a small First Nations creative business based in Alice Springs and Townsville, to bring it all together. This was the result:
This artwork illustrates balance and a harmonious relationship with land, sea and country. The waterholes, fish, bush tucker and landscape represent elements of all of Australia. At the centre, we have people, living and growing on country Life Ed affiliate organisations in each state and territory.
