Go Bananas Day at school 2026

On Wednesday 21st October, primary schools and early learning centres are invited to join Healthy Harold for. Go Bananas Day at school 2026 - a fun celebration of healthy habits, nutrition and Healthy Harold’s favourite fruit!
In partnership with Hort Innovation and Australian Bananas, Go Bananas Day is a chance to bring a little extra fun to the school day while getting children thinking and talking about the role healthy food choices can play in supporting their wellbeing.
For schools and early learning services with a Life Ed visit on the day, educators will bring the Go Bananas Day celebration into their sessions. Schools and services without a visit are also warmly invited to take part using the resources below.
A day to go bananas
Go Bananas Day is a simple way to make healthy eating conversations fun and engaging.
Schools and early learning centres can get involved by encouraging children to:
- Wear yellow or dress in their brightest banana-inspired outfits
- Bring a banana along for a healthy snack
- Get creative with banana-themed activities
- Share their Go Bananas Day celebrations with Healthy Harold!
Whether you are celebrating alongside a Life Ed visit or running your own activity, Go Bananas Day is an opportunity to bring healthy eating conversations into the classroom and add a splash of yellow to the day. Bananas are a convenient fruit option that provide carbohydrates, vitamin B6 and potassium, and can be an easy addition to lunchboxes.
