Governor-General becomes Patron of Life Ed
Tuesday, 10 Dec 2024
Life Ed is honoured to welcome Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, as the not-for-profit’s new Patron.
It is incredibly inspiring to see a strong leader and advocate for equity in the role of Governor-General. As we continue our work to ensure every child has every opportunity to thrive through education, we are grateful that Governor-General Mostyn has agreed to support our efforts in schools and communities across Australia.
With her widespread achievements across the community, not-for-profit and business sectors, and commitment to important issues like mental health and reconciliation, we have no doubt that she will make a significant impact as Governor-General and we look forward to working together with her to reach more children when it counts.

Ms Mostyn carries on Life Ed’s strong partnership with the Governor-General’s office, with the not-for-profit having previously benefited from the support of His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) as Patron.
In her swearing-in speech on 1 July 2024, Governor-General Mostyn shared:
Care has a deep and resonant place in our Australian identity. Care is the gentle thought and the outstretched hand that Australians have always been ready to share when great challenges present themselves. Care is the quieter, better part of ourselves. And it is that sense of care that Simeon and I will seek to depict and amplify as we take on this role.
Life Ed is privileged to have the support of such an eloquent and compassionate advocate.
