Perth primary school kids get excited ... Healthy Harold is back in schools!

Life Ed mascot Healthy Harold the giraffe, has resumed his school visits at St Vincent’s School in Parmelia after doing his part to flatten the COVID-19 curve.

Healthy Harold, who visits schools across the State and promotes the message of staying healthy and safe, received the green light to visit primary schools after COVID-19 restrictions were lifted.

Life Ed’s WA executive officer Bernie Foley said the giraffe made its first appearance since the lockdown earlier this month at St Vincent’s. “Healthy Harold spent Term 2 delivering his program online and is excited to be heading back to schools to see children face to-face,” Mr Foley said.

This means Healthy Harold, the lovable giraffe, is back partnering with many local primary schools during this year’s Terms 3 and 4.
BERNIE FOLEY, CEO LIFE ED WA

Mr Foley said Life Education had formed a two-year partnership with Alcoa’s Kwinana Refinery, to deliver the Life Education program to schools across to area. Alcoa community relations officer Ashley Winter said the partnership with Life Education was part of the company’s ongoing support to the local community.

“It is so important to encourage kids to learn and adopt healthy options to set themselves up for every success,” she said.

“We’re pleased to help provide this essential educational initiative to children in the communities that host our activities.”

Mr Foley said early preventive education for children was paramount in building their knowledge and resilience.
