Harold is away on a road trip visiting schools all around Australia, meanwhile his friends are learning all about friendships. Boots, Red, Lachie, Star and Sam acknowledge that friendships have ups and downs, but in the end good friends are always there for each other.
Overview
Presented in engaging comic book-style videos, this module focuses on being a good friend. Boots and Red have been friends forever but a conflict between them unfolds. The concepts of; asking consent, having tricky conversations with friends, and feelings associated with big changes are also explored. With the help of their friendship group, will Boots and Red resolve their misunderstanding in the end?

Friends & Feelings – Tuning In Lesson – My Emotions
Students will be able to identify types of feelings, their meaning and purpose. Identify a range of emotions, what they mean, and the various ways they are communicated. And understand what emotions are and how we express them in a variety of ways.

Friends & Feelings – Post Visit Lesson 1 – Empathy and Inclusion
Students will be able to define inclusion, empathy and the skills and strategies needed to successfully resolve conflict. Identify what it means to be inclusive, supportive and how to overcome conflict. Evaluate what skills promote positive connections and overcoming conflict with others.

Friends & Feelings – Post Visit Lesson 2 – Emotional Regulation
Students will be able to define reactivity, its impact on our choices and describe the skills and strategies needed to successfully exercise reasoned decisions. Investigate what it means to act on impulses, evaluate reactivity and regulate both in order to make positive decisions. Investigate the impact of emotions on impulses and decision making.

Friends & Feelings – Session 1 – Decisions and Consent
Harold loves spending time with his friends and misses them while he is away on his trip around Australia. In this session, the qualities of a good friend are explored, as well as the concept of consent and why it is so important to ask for consent. The idea of how feelings can impact our decision making process and strategies to remedy this is addressed.

Friends & Feelings – Session 2 – Big Feelings and Body Clues
Harold knows that all feelings are normal and in this session the concepts of feelings and body clues are explored. Our bodies give us clues to let us know what it is feeling and it is important to pay attention to these signals. In this session, strategies to help us be calm are included including mindfulness, and how it can be beneficial to help us manage our big feelings.

Having an honest conversation can be a tricky thing to do, especially when it is with a good friend. In this session, Advika and Max have an honest conversation about how they are feeling. They use empathy to try and understand how the other person is feeling and why.
